UNION

Though Union Avenue runs north-south through the city, the word Union invariably evokes the iconic transit hub, Union Station. Originally designed by Daniel Burnham, the building has been part of Chicago’s architectural landscape since 1925. It remains a bustling nexus of activity, as hurried passengers race past the revived great hall, easily recognizable by film lovers and host to many cultural events. Like Union Station, this style is based in form, function, and intriguing, architectural ornamentation.
